Write a Letter to Jimmy

Writing a letter to Jimmy is one way to support him as he and his family continues to fight for his freedom. Sending letters of support are encouraged. We also welcome letters from attorneys or other legal workers who are interested in reaching out to him for guidance.

General correspondence is opened and inspected by staff for both contraband and content that might “threaten the security or good order of the institution”. We recommend avoiding talking about any sensitive topics that may flag your letter.

All letters must have a return address written or printed (no labels) on the envelope. Please also write your return address in the letter itself, as prisoners are rarely given the physical envelopes.

Black or blue pen, white or yellow lined paper only — cotton paper is not allowed. No white-out, stickers, tape, colored ink, glue, or glitter.

All personal artwork must be in black and white.

Most facilities do not allow torn pages from books, magazines, or newspapers. However you may send black and white photocopies of these items.
